New Zealand‘s Pacific population is growing, 266,000 in 2010. Most Pacific New Zealanders are New Zealand born, young, and highly urbanised. Nearly 70% live in Auckland and an increasing number are now unemployed; 15.2% in June 2010, and increase of 4.2% on the previous year.
A number of factors have been demonstrated to stem the growth in unemployment stats and positively impact social and economic transformation;
- Making the link between education & well being
- Supporting our kids to get the right education
- Working together to get sustainable results
Accelerating Aotearoa’s work is to provide a framework – a collaborative mechanism – to enable committed organisations and individuals to support those imperatives.
Our business is the business of hope, dreams and possibilities.
Our challenge is to better align vision, passion and resources available to underserved communities, so often fractionalised through lack of coordination, to ensure better outcomes for those communities.
Accelerating Aotearoa is an established and independent "Not For Profit" with demonstrated and measurable successes over a 7 year period.
We enable:
- Leadership in creating collaboration across regions together with both public & private sector organisations
- Development of sustainable economic & social solutions for underserved communities
- Focus on digital capability as the platform for the development & growth of New Zealand’s economy
Our independent, collaborative and broad based approach to delivering outcomes for sectors and communities is unique. We deliver a range of initiatives that directly enhance outcomes for the underserved, by coordinating the aspirations and energies of Tertiaries, businesses, government and communities.
For all communities though particularly focusing on underserved communities, to work alongside our neighbours, friends, relatives and colleagues, and take an active role in programmes with demonstrated connections to well-being and enablement.
At this time, Auckland’s Pacific communities desperately need support to achieve increased skilled employment.
Think strategically, act locally - your neighbour - our nation.
