International Women’s Day “Outstanding Service Award”

Accelerating Aotearoa has achieved further recognition for its role in strengthening women and families worldwide, with an International Women’s Day “Outstanding Service Award”.


The award was presented to Accelerating Aotearoa founder and CEO Judith Speight by the Mayor of Auckland Len Brown at an event celebrating the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day.
Held at the newly launched Matatau Maori Business Network in Manukau the celebration took place at the first of Matatau's monthly Whaikorero series, on Tuesday March 8th 2011.

Other award recipients were;
Dame Georgina Kirby, Maori economic, arts and fashion development advocate and founder of Maori Women's Development Incorporated and, Deborah Bush QSM, Chief Executive of Endometriosis NZ.

The awards were organised by The Women's Information Network (The WIN) as part of the celebration of the 100th Anniversary of International Women's Day to honour extraordinary efforts that make a positive difference in the world.

Award recipients receive:

  • Global recognition for their outstanding service. Recognition on The International Women's Day website.
  • Placement of their picture and description of their service on the International Women’s Day website and The Women’s Information Network website for one year.
  • Recognition at an International Women's Day event in their country.
  • Membership in the Women’s Information Network WINNER’S CIRCLE for one full year.
  • International Women’s Day Outstanding Service Award Certificate.
