Andrew Bonica

Andrew Bonica - Chairman - WorkforceIP

Andrew brings to the taskforce almost 2 decades of ICT industry knowledge and experience encompassing telecommunications, IT and Wireless in both Northern and Southern hemispheres. Andrew has a strong background in ICT services and particularly outsourcing, having been involved in some of the NZ's largest ICT outsourcing engagements.
Born in NZ but educated in the United States, Andrew, a former US Military officer prior to moving into the ICT world, has held roles with organizations that include Equant, HCL, IBM, Telecom NZ, Vodafone, the US and PNG Governments. Andrew is a strong supporter of local and national initiatives to empower New Zealand and New Zealanders. He is a protagonist of the benefits of effective, private and public sector collaboration and partnerships.

Judy Speight

Judith Speight - Founder and Chief Executive

After twenty years in the corporate sector,Judith now works in governance roles for a range of organizations in addition to establishing a number of collaboration based initiatives.
Current governance roles include being a Trustee for Carers NZ, Councillor to the Network of Aotearoa Clubhouses (NOAC), membership of AUT University’s Computing Advisory Board along with Director roles for Cloud Region Limited (“2Onions”) and ITT WRKZ Limited.
Recognitions:
• 2011: Recipient of an International Women's Day "Outstanding Service Award"
• 2010: One of four NZ women business people invited by the US Government to represent New Zealand at the inaugural APEC Women’s Entrepreneurial Summit (WES) in Gifu, Japan. Following on from the Gifu meeting new collaborative projects focusing on women’s empowerment are being developed.
• 2007 recognised internationally with a Champion of Digital Literacy award in Orlando, Florida for work to address the Digital Divide.
Historical roles include membership of the Prime Minister’s Y2K Task Force, Internet NZ’s Executive Board, Minister for Communication’s Electronic Commerce Action Team, New Zealand’s APEC TEL delegation & Government’s Broadband Forum, councillor for both InternetNZ and NACCQ, in addition to being Chairman of the Telecommunications Users Association (TUANZ) for a 7 year period & a Trustee for the e-regions Trust.

Adam Berry - New Zealand School of Education

Adam is the CEO of the New Zealand School of Education, a specialist IT institution, and a current Board member of Hebron Christian College in Mt Albert.
He recently completed an Executive MBA at Auckland University and has a strong interest and passion for people and innovation and how the two can be brought together through education and technology to improve the lives of people in the 21st Century.
Adam has held a number of senior roles with international companies such as TIME Magazine, International Management Group and American Express, and has owned Travel companies which included Orbit Corporate Travel, House of Travel Parnell and Adventure Travel.
In his spare time, Adam is a Master Swimmer at the Mt Eden Swim Club.

Charles Berryman - Auckland Council

Charles brings to Accelerating Aotearoa a rich history in local government, education and television. Before his appointment to the new Auckland Council, Charles was Group Manager Tangata Whenua Relationships Development for Manukau City Council.
Ahead of Manukau City a number of senior roles at Maori Television were preceded by appointments at Te Wananga O Aotearoa, Auckland Museum, the Human Rights Commission, Unitec and AUT University.

Mark Farnsworth

Mark Farnsworth

Until 2010 Mark Farnsworth represented the Kaipara since 1992 and was elected Council Chairman for Northland Regional council in October 2001. Mark has a Master's Degree in Geography and has a forestry and farming background.
He is also a past National President of the New Zealand School Trustees Association and operates a small management partnership.
Currently he is also a Justice of the Peace.

Hinu te Hau

Hinurewa te Hau - Matatau Maori Business Centre

Hinurewa (Hinu) is a Cultural practitioner whose primary sectors are tourism, creative industries and economic development. Hinu's specialisation is in cultural management in particular organisational culture. Her specielities are Governance & management, facilitation, organisational culture, research & analysis, IP Development, Business Planning & Methodoloy, Structures, and International Marketing. Hinu’s vocation for the past decade has been to work collaboratively across the public and private sectors as a conduit for cultural & economic transformation, she is a strategist, advisor, and implementer.
Currently Hinu is responsible for the development of the first ever Maori Business Centre in the Auckland Region, as well as taking a leading role in the 3 year transition plan for Auckland regions 'Matariki Festival'.
As the principal owner of her own company Paewaho Development Group, she undertakes at least one social wellbeing project every 1 to 3 years. In the past Hinu has fundraised for child cancer, been a trustee for 'Dress for Success', done research for Maori Deaf in Tai Tokerau and been contracted to build the capability of Health Advocacy in Auckland. Now she is involved in WONs a health promotions Trust and their cervical screening project to build awareness among Maori & Pacific peoples.

John Holley

John Holley was most recently Group Manager ICT for the Auckland Regional Council.

Before this, he has held a number of IT management, sales, and consulting roles, including at the University of Auckland and the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind. He has been a school trustee for 13 years, including time as board chair of his children's primary school. He additionally provides consulting to a number of schools in the greater Auckland area on ICT and is a member of the Accelerating Aotearoa Taskforce.
In his spare time he is an officer in the NZ Army, which has included an operational deployment to East Timor in 2001, and instructing in operational planning and leadership at the Canadian Forces College in Toronto.

Pete Macaulay

Peter Macaulay - No1 IT Group, IDC New Zealand

Peter is passionate about the ability of the Internet to enhance many aspects of peoples' lives, and works to make it happen. Peter is currently the elected President of Internet NZ and Chief Executive and Founder of The Number One IT Group Ltd. Prior to his election Peter held roles as Programme Manager for Government's Digital Strategy and Executive director of InternetNZ (The Internet Society).
Moving from aircraft engineering into the Computer Services division of Air New Zealand Peter became an analyst programmer in 1972. This technical background is the foundation on which he has superimposed management, sales and marketing skills. Generalization has allowed Peter to work internationally in roles as diverse as developer of operating system components, through to CIO of one of the world's largest electronics distributors.
Peter has a strong interest in intellectual property, and was a founder of the NZ Business Software alliance. To emphasize a commitment to the industry Peter served on the board of ITANZ (The Information Technology Association), and was elected president for a two-year term in 1998. Trevor Eagle and Peter Macaulay formed The Number One IT Group as a subsidiary of Eagle Technology in 1983, and it became an industry leader in software distribution and technical service. The business was highly regarded as a provider of award winning support.

Michael Myers

Dr Michael Myers - University of Auckland

Professor Michael Myers is currently Professor of Information Systems and Head of Department of Information Systems and Operations Management.
His research articles have been published in many journals and books. Professor Myers won the Best Paper award (with Heinz Klein) for the most outstanding paper published in MIS Quarterly in 1999. This paper has been cited over 1,000 times and is third most cited paper to appear in MIS Quarterly.Professor Myers also won the Best Paper Award (with Lynda Harvey) for the best paper published in Information Technology & People in 1997.
He currently serves as Senior Editor of Information Systems Research and as Editor of the ISWorld Section on Qualitative Research.Professor Myers previously served as Senior Editor of MIS Quarterly from 2001-2005, as Associate Editor of Information Systems Research from 2000-2005, and as Associate Editor of Information Systems Journal from 1995-2000.
Professor Myers was President of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) in 2006-2007, and was Chair of the International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP) Working Group 8.2 from 2006-2008.

    Dr Tony Norris - Massey University

    Tony Norris is Professor of Information Systems at Massey University, Albany. Tony's research interests are in the strategic role of information technology and information management in the health sector and include the cultural and business issues associated with the application of IT, data quality, privacy and confidentiality, knowledge management, and telehealth.
    At Massey, these interests have been combined with expertise in the Information Systems Division to launch a Research Centre for Mobile Computing. The Centre has three themes, mobile learning, mobile business, and, incorporating Tony's own interest, mobile health with a focus on how we can use mobile technologies to improve the management of chronic diseases.
    Before joining Massey University in November 2005, Tony was Deputy Head of the Information Systems and Operations Management Department at the University of Auckland having arrived in New Zealand form the UK in 2000.

    Associate Prof Hossein Sarrafzadeh - Unitec

    Associate Prof Hossein Sarrafzadeh is Head of Department/Associate Professor of Computing at Unitec.

    Doug Standring - Open Polytechnic

    Doug’s 20-year career in tertiary education in New Zealand and the UK spans all aspects of internal/external communications; public, government and stakeholder relations; and corporate identity/branding. Doug joined Open Polytechnic in 1996 as Corporate Communications Manager and became Executive Director Marketing and Communications in October 2009. His role includes responsibility for business development and International. Doug’s previous roles include managing the London School of Economics Press and Information Office and media and communications at Massey University. Along with graduate study in marketing, Doug holds a Master of Arts (First Class) from Massey University and a Graduate Diploma in International Relations (Distinction) from the London School of Economics.

    Filemoni Timoteo - Computer Clubhouse Trust

    Filemoni is Chief Operating Officer for the Computer Clubhouse Trust.
    The Computer Clubhouse provides a creative and safe community-based learning environment where young people work with adult mentors to explore their own ideas, develop skills and build confidence through the use of technology.
    Filemoni was formerly Group Manager, Economic Development for Manukau City Council.
